Los Altos High School is a public school in Los Altos, California. It has 1,728 students in grades 9-12. LAHS is really a great school. They have a huge variety of classes which you can pick according to you interests and how much you want to challenge yourself. Most of the teachers are amazing, they are always there when you need them and always give you their time.

Though there is pressure, there is just the right amount of pressure that kicks the students into gear to get them to do there best.

Los Altos High School offers a range of honors and AP classes to its students. There are a wide range of academic options, including several honors/AP courses, a few languages, special ed classes, tutoring, and extra classes like wood shop and jazz band. The academics are extremely rigorous. Most students take 3-4 APs and even standard classes are very difficult. Curriculum is challenging enough to push you.

Most of the teachers at Los Altos High are very good. They tailor the course to the students’ needs, and explain why they structured their classes the way they did, and consider students’ suggestions. They are all also very accessible. Most of the teachers are consistent with their grading, they don’t leave much guessing room, and if you do have a question about your grade, they are happy to speak to you about and it discuss it with you.

There are tons of amazing clubs that are student-run and very active in the community. Students can join as many clubs as they like or even start one of their own with a group of friends. The school provides a really friendly, encouraging atmosphere for getting involved in clubs and other extracurriculars.

The clubs range from a variety of professional clubs to global to community to recreational, i.e. Future Business Leaders of America, One Dollar For Life, Key Club, Tea Club, and many more.

The school has great facilities for athletes, and encourages non-athletes to participate in daily activities during break. Everything is clean and welcoming, and the coaches are really helpful, making practices very enjoyable.

There’s a club on campus called Blue Crew that convinces kids to go to the basketball games by giving them free shirts, free food, and other items such as wigs and hats.
