20. Oviedo High School, Oviedo, FL

Oviedo High School is a public school in Oviedo, Florida. It has 2,237 students in grades 9-12. This school’s pride and spirit makes the public high school stick out. The student body is so welcoming and there are always things to participate in.

Oviedo High School is rated an A school every year for having the best academics in Seminole County. The scheduling process is very simple. Workload varies from class to class, depending on the level, and is typically manageable. The academics range from standard all the way to AP and dual enrollment in the local college options.

The teachers are amazing and many of them are past students. Teaching style varies and their knowledge in their subject is not questioned. Teachers always have the interest of their students in mind and communicate well with the students and parents. Grading is consistent.

There is a plethora of extracurricular activities available at Oviedo, ranging from debate club, all the honor societies, Robotics Club, FCA Associations, and diverse communities with access to them. The most popular clubs are Beta Club and the honor societies.

The level of commitment is very high because everyone realizes the work they have to do to earn the cord at the end of their senior year. They must perform a certain number of community service hours to even be considered in strong-standing and it keeps our clubs very high-rated.

The administration is constantly supporting the clubs and there has not been a time where there has been severe debt, lack of funding, or lack of participation by all the members of the school.

Oviedo High School is known for their sport teams. Students are highly involved at most of the sporting events and created a name that was known throughout our county. School spirit is a must at Oviedo High School and Lion Pride is natural. Facilities and programs are kept up to par. There is a wide variety of many different sports to participate in, including football, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, lacrosse, and the many NJROTC competing teams.
