West Forsyth High School is a public school in Clemmons, North Carolina. It has 2,058 students in grades 9-12. West offers a variety of classes. Teachers that teach higher level classes (APs, Honors level) have strict organization. Some may have syllabuses with assignments already planned for each night.
The workload varies. AP classes such as AP US History, require reading a buttload of chapters, while AP English may require a couple essays (which are difficult to grasp at first) a month. Developing an individual schedule is a binding process and it is very difficult to switch out of a class during the middle of the year.
Overall the teachers are amazing. They seem to have a passion for the students, classes and for educating the students. Teachers are always willing to help.
There is a wide variety of opportunities for everyone to get involved. There is every sport available, foreign language clubs, theatrical performances, academic competition teams, leadership committees, volunteer and service clubs, music ensembles. Student can do just about anything for free and there is something for everyone to do. The teachers sponsor the activities and encourage new members to join.
The team spirit at West Forsyth High School is extravagant and so full-spirited. The football games, baseball games, and basketball games are the ones that have the biggest and highest percentage of students from school to attend.
Their theme nights are what really draw the students attention because they can dress up like the theme and really show team spirit for the school and yell and scream as much as they need to in order to show great love and dedication for their school. Their team’s performances have been superb over the past couple of years in winning conference championships and/or county.
